Father and son enjoying a good old-fashioned strategy game. This was a game Daddy played when he was a kid. It's fun to revisit old childhood games, isn't it?

Fridays at home are most often, movie nights. Kids are allowed to stay up later than their usual school night bedtime. The promise of a movie after dinner magically speeds up dinner time, veggies are consumed without complaint and the table is cleared with extra little hands more than willing to help. Showing tonight was "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs."
"You like my hair, Mommy?" she asked. As I turned around to look, I knew I had my picture for today. This is so her and this is fairly typical too. She'll fix up her hair with clips, barrettes and elastics(sometimes all together too).
"Of course, I do!" I replied.
"Can you picture me?" she asked.
"Of course!," I shrieked with delight as I ran to get the camera before her sisters ruin our little moment together.
She is daytime potty-trained. We do have her wear pull-ups when we go out though. She still has not mastered how to go "on-demand." Before we leave for somewhere, we ask her to try and go potty. She does but "it's not working" she says. Then, when we're out on the road, she suddenly needs to go. Sometimes, she can hold it until we get to our destination. Sometimes, she doesn't - which is why we still keep her on pull-ups. ;)
Basketball season begins! This will be his second year of joining the city's basketball league. Last year, he was still in the peewee league: scores were not kept, traveling and double dribbling was allowed... you get the picture. This year, he's now in the junior tournament. He has 2 other classmates in the same team. Other classmates are on other teams so when their teams face each other, it should get pretty interesting.
The tree is down. And that signals the official end of Christmas in this house.
It would actually have stayed up a little longer if trash day was not yet today. This was the last day trash would be picking up Christmas trees so down it had to go.
Patting myself on the back here as I've gotten back into exercising for a week now. Have not missed a day except yesterday as we were in Disneyland. Here's to a healthier me for 2010!
