So what if we're a week late? It still is technically Easter, right? There's a whole script to the making of these Easter cookies which I blogged about on my regular blog, Shine Like Stars. Here, she's beating the nuts just like Jesus was beaten by soldiers.
Another birthday cake for our birthday girl. We had out men's and women's group tonight and of course, the April celebrants were able to blow out the candles for their cakes. Here are the 4 kids and one of big Ate's best buds in community.
My darling eldest daughter celebrated her 7th birthday today. Sigh...how fast time flies. She was being honored here by the family. "Honoring" is a tradition we have where we honor the birthday celebrant by telling her what we like most about her. Can you just see here glowing and all radiant from listening to all the good things being said about her?
A group shot in front of the mission. This was the last day of our spring vacation. We drove back home after a lunch stop at Jolly Roger. My aunt and uncle are staying over a night at the house before they fly back to Milwaukee tomorrow.
Despite the cool weather and the cold ocean water, there was no stopping these kids from at least playing on the shore. When the winds were getting stronger and the air was getting even cooler, we marched back up into the hotel pool where the water was nice and warm. It was not the most swimming friendly weather but you would not know it from the smiles of my kids ( minus the chattering teeth!) LOL!
We walked along the Oceanside Pier today. We saw some really cool pelicans up close. Here are the 2 girls with their Lola. We also went to the harbor to walk around and look at yachts. We just walked and talked and ate. It was a relaxing day.
We drove down to Oceanside today, Easter Sunday with my aunt and uncle from Milwaukee. Our hotel is right across the pier which gives us a real nice view. My uncle and the big boy were out there earlier fishing. They caught nothing but a cold. LOL! Try again tomorrow!
