Sanctuary

>> Saturday, April 3, 2010

Her bed is her safe place, her sanctuary. When she's tired, she usually climbs onto her bed and snuggles under her sheets. When she's been reprimanded and she needs some quiet time, she scurries off to her room and spends time on her bed, reading or laying down. She comes out when she's ready to conquer the world once again. I like that she has found herself a personal space to run to when she needs it. I think that's a healthy habit to carry into adulthood.

Good Friday

Here is big Ate as Mary, watching her son Jesus being nailed to the cross. Their presentation of the stations of the cross went well. I was so proud of the kids. Even the little one got to participate as one of the women of Jerusalem that met Jesus in the 8th station.

I'm Tired

>> Thursday, April 1, 2010

"I'm tired, " she wearily said at the dinner table. I nodded and smiled and continued to clear the table. "Start going to the shower kids, then brush your teeth!" I heard footsteps running up the stairs and across the second floor of the house. That's a good sign of activity. I looked under the bed. I looked in the toilet. I looked inside the closet. Nope. I went back down and there she was, sitting in the corner of the couch, knocked out, fast asleep. >> Sunday, March 28, 2010

My dad speaking on spiritual warfare to our community. All the time while he was speaking, all I could think of was that cross behind him. Such juxtaposition - he has and continues to carry his cross for Christ and I admire him for that!

About This Blog

This project began as a challenge to record my family's daily life for a year by taking one photo a day. It was not as successful as I wanted it to be.
After taking off for about a year, I am embarking on this photographic journey once more. I hope that these pictures will be visual cues to the memories we've built together as a family.
