These are my inspiration. The loves of my life. I am better because of them. I am blessed to be called their mom.

This particular picture is something I hope to do yearly. I took the framed picture last year. My plan is to take a pic of the kids at the same pose and location every year holding a framed picture of the last year. So each picture with hold a picture of a picture of a picture...

Creativity

2013 left me sapped of energy, creativity, life. It was a struggle to find joy but find it I did. Still, it was a struggle. I had to look hard for the joy. It felt like a spiritual battle almost every day.

While nothing much has changed with the turn of the new year, I am determined to bring the creative back into my life. DH gifted me with a sewing machine during Christmas. And I quickly got to work. I was able to sew throw pillow covers for our family room and matching pajama pants for my girls. I'm still such a beginner that these were HUGE accomplishments for me. So proud of myself!

Last year, I had no creative outlet whatsoever. Photography had no appeal for me. It felt such drudgery to carry my camera around. I found no reason to craft in any way. Like I said, I was just sapped even of inspiration.

This year started with a lot of inspiration. The sewing machine sparked a renewed sense of beauty within me. I got to create something beautiful with my own hands. Now, I am itching to fill my life with creativity - whether in sewing, photography, scrapbooking or other crafty things.

So, here's to a year of creating and crafting.

Happy 2014

Happy 2014!!! Back home in the Philippines, new year celebrations was synonymous to fireworks - right  in your backyard or on the streets in front of your house. As kids, we lit up sparklers to join in on the fun. When I moved here to the US, I sorely missed this part of NYE celebration. Where, oh where, do you find sparklers during this time of the year?!

A friend mentioned to me that she bought them during 4th of July and kept them for NYE. What a brilliant idea! So that's exactly what I did last summer.

So, here are my 2 girls enjoying what I enjoyed doing when I was a kid.

Happy new year!!!

About This Blog

This project began as a challenge to record my family's daily life for a year by taking one photo a day. It was not as successful as I wanted it to be.
After taking off for about a year, I am embarking on this photographic journey once more. I hope that these pictures will be visual cues to the memories we've built together as a family.
